Rifle; Barnett, Flintlock, Indian Trade, 1856 Lock, Tack Decorated.

A Northwest Indian Trade flintlock rifle by Barnett, .550 smoothbore, part octagonal-to-round barrel. Barrel has Birmingham proofs. Lockplate is marked in the rear Barnett and dated 1856. Seated fox on the lockplate and on the top of barrel. Walnut stock with carved beaver tail behind tang, brass buttplate with screws, steel triggerguard, brass serpent sideplate attached with three sidelock screws. Stock is adorned with small brass tacks in a unique design with large brass tacks interwoven into the pattern....[more information available via subscription]
