Powder Horn; York County, Polished, Screw Tip, Carved Plug, 13 inch.

An 18th century York County, Pennsylvania screw tip [polished or undecorated] powder horn, richly decorated base plug which extends 1.3" from lower edge of horn, complete with chain molding encompassing the base. Bottom of base further with rope molding, and concentric circles leading into the staple cavity at the bottom of the plug. Double lines are inscribed into the horn just below the shoulder of the spout. Early screw tip funnel, 2.2" with decorative turnings and two prominent rings turned in the middle.
