2005 Sale Offering: A circa 1816, American Flintlock Martial Pistol, Model 1816, made by S. NORTH of Middletown, Connecticut. Marked on the right side lockplate "S. NORTH - US (with Eagle Vignette marking between) MIDLN CT" the right side being difficult to read from actual wear from use.

These pistols were typically carried by the cavalry in the pommel holsters on their saddle.

2000 Sale Offering: A U.S. Model 1816 martial flintlock pistol. Made by Simeon North, the lock is marked with "S. North" over "U. Eagle S." with "Midl TN Co under. Original brass flint pan, wood ramrod. ...[more information available via subscription]
