A rare Savannah cast iron cauldron, mid 19th century, marked "Weed and Cornwell Savannah", "No. 10, 8 Gall", "Pocasset", flared lip, ribbed body, handles and peg feet.

Note: Weed and Cornwell operated a fancy hardware store in Savannah selling sundries and coffee. They are mentioned in Confederate Civil War letters published as a group by J.H. Easterby, circa 1944, titled "Captain Langdon Cheves, and the Confederate Silk Dress Balloon"....[more information available via subscription]
