CATALOGUE NOTE: Ferdinand Barbedienne died in 1892, at which time his nephew took over the firm and renamed the celebrated French foundry Leblanc-Barbedienne. Commissioned in 1806 after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon I at the peak of his fortunes the Arc de Triomphe remains one of the most celebrated monuments in Paris....[more information available via subscription]
